Career Fair 2005 Moosonee and Moose Factory

February 15 and 16, 2005

As part of our mandate to encourage local students to consider careers in law, Keewaytinok Native Legal Services took part in a Career Fair in Moosonee and Moose Factory, along with government, businesses and educational institutions. The event was sponsored by the Moose Cree First Nation, the Mushkegowuk Council, Delores D. Echum Composite School, Mocreebec, Northern College, the Ontario Federation of Indian Friendship Centres, Northern Lights Secondary School and Human Resources and Skills Development Canada.

There were booths offering information about various careers in fields ranging from retail to resource extraction as well as information about programs offered at many Ontario universities and colleges. CBC Television Anchor and Reporter Carla Robinson was a featured speaker. Ministry of Natural Resources Conservation officer Kyle Cachagee and his dog Ranger demonstrated their ability to work together to detect illicit objects and substances.
